-Subzero- A Sled Dog Roleplay

Hi, it's Starnight, back with another dog roleplay! This time, it's a sled dog roleplay, pretty much the opposite of the stray dog roleplay.

The wilderness; vast, unforgiving, and below freezing. Snow is everywhere, and one of the best ways for man to transport here is by dogsledding. This roleplay takes place in the Yukon, in the year of 1897. But life isn't easy for neither humans nor dogs. Team 1 consists of an assortment of dogs bought by people on the whim who need dogs for the sled team and are on their way to the Klondike to get rich. These dogs are constantly fighting and stealing each other's food and live by the law of club and fang. However, the dogs from Team 2 have either been raised together or were carefully trained to leave in peace with each other. They work as the mailing/trading system. This team is loyal to each other and to their owners. Temperates are frigid during the night. Whichever team you are part of, life in the Arctic is a struggle to survive.

Like the stray dog rp, this roleplay is highly realistic and semi-literate. Dog sled Team 1 is inspired by Jack London's book, "The Call of the Wild". Team 2 is inspired by the movie, "Eight Below". In case you didn't read or watch either of these, I will provide an overview of how to act in rp (for example, I will explain the law of club and fang, which only Team 1 follows). Also, if you can't decide which team to be in, you can create 2 characters.

Law of Club: Fear and respect humans, or be beaten with a club.

Law of Fang: Only the strongest survive. If you are knocked off your feet during battle by another dog, you'll be killed.


Team 1

Leader: This dog is respected and feared. He/she bullies the other dogs and keeps them in line. He/she also leads in the front when sledding. Every dog wishes to be and challenges the leader.

Wheeler: These dogs are important. They pull near the back of the sled. They are the strongest and most experienced sled dogs. (only two wheelers)



Subordinates: These dogs make up the bulk of the team. They are in the middle or near the front when sledding.

Omegas: These are usually the newbies that aren't used to sled dog life, or weak dogs that are too good-natured. They are often bullied.



Team 2

Leader: This dog is respected, admired, and loved. He/she is in the very front when sledding, and is the main decision maker besides the owner.

The master gave the stop signal and she did. The master gave some letters to an elderly couple and they thanked him. "Mush!" He said and Yuki started running again.

OOC: Yes the team left camp already and is pulling the sled.

Snow trotted on as the master mushed them again. She began to struggle as she pulled, because the trail was getting rockier.

Team 1

Scara pulled forward and lept into a fast run at the crake of the whip. HS ecould feel the urgancy to go heavy in the air and her breath was soon coming in and out of her lungs in pants.

Team 2
Jakson moved easily with his brother by his side. They had trained together and pulled the sled along at a steady pace. The air was cold but the brute was warm with all his running and thick coat.

Simon loped through the snow stopping at the comands and throwing his wieght forward in time with Jakson to ge the sled moving again. His gaze stayed fixed on Yukis back as they ran and he admired the female from his position as wheeler.

Yuki stopped once more when master reign it back, the top dug into her skin a but and she looked back. "Everyone OK so far?"she asked. But before she got an answer, master told them to go back, so, she ran back to their home. The master unharnessed all the dogs and dubbed moisture on their paw pads again before going into his home.

"That's good."Yuki smiled. "How about you three?"she asked.

Yuki chuckles and lays in the snow. Her pink eyes sparkling like stars in the darkness of the night.

Team 1

Scara loped carefully accross the ice after White Fang. She dug her claws into it to stop from skidding and making the whole team from falling into the ice. Her breath came in pants as she toiled.

Team 2

Jakson padded over to sit by Snowflake. "We are fine." he said reffering to him and his brother. The two wheelers had ran longer and harder than this while training. His brown eyes found the fae beside him and he gently touched his nose to her neck.

Simon smirked as he shook out his fur. Standing beside Yuki he looked at his leader. "How are you my sweet?" he asked brushing his pelt against hers.

Team 1
Scara let out a sigh of happiness when they got off the ice. She slowly drew to a halt as they reached camp. When she was let out she shook out her red fur and blinked her amber eyes. Moving over to White Fang she sat down beside him as Perrault got out the teams fish.

Team 2
Jakson felt Snow nuzzle him as she lent into him. He smiled and twisted his head to rest it on hers lightly. He knew he had fallen completly for the husky and didnt regret it at all.

Team 1
Scara watched a White Fang ate his pound of meat. She only took half of hers and pushed the rest to her leader. "Not hungry." she barked softly. Standing the red female shook out her fur and walked slowly away.

Team 2
Jakson watched with sadness as Snowflake walked away. Standing up the gray and white sibarian husky followed her. He reached the door and scrached at it gently.

"Fine "she smiled. Completely ignoring the 'my sweet' part. "You?"she asked.
