-Subzero- A Sled Dog Roleplay

Hi, it's Starnight, back with another dog roleplay! This time, it's a sled dog roleplay, pretty much the opposite of the stray dog roleplay.

The wilderness; vast, unforgiving, and below freezing. Snow is everywhere, and one of the best ways for man to transport here is by dogsledding. This roleplay takes place in the Yukon, in the year of 1897. But life isn't easy for neither humans nor dogs. Team 1 consists of an assortment of dogs bought by people on the whim who need dogs for the sled team and are on their way to the Klondike to get rich. These dogs are constantly fighting and stealing each other's food and live by the law of club and fang. However, the dogs from Team 2 have either been raised together or were carefully trained to leave in peace with each other. They work as the mailing/trading system. This team is loyal to each other and to their owners. Temperates are frigid during the night. Whichever team you are part of, life in the Arctic is a struggle to survive.

Like the stray dog rp, this roleplay is highly realistic and semi-literate. Dog sled Team 1 is inspired by Jack London's book, "The Call of the Wild". Team 2 is inspired by the movie, "Eight Below". In case you didn't read or watch either of these, I will provide an overview of how to act in rp (for example, I will explain the law of club and fang, which only Team 1 follows). Also, if you can't decide which team to be in, you can create 2 characters.

Law of Club: Fear and respect humans, or be beaten with a club.

Law of Fang: Only the strongest survive. If you are knocked off your feet during battle by another dog, you'll be killed.


Team 1

Leader: This dog is respected and feared. He/she bullies the other dogs and keeps them in line. He/she also leads in the front when sledding. Every dog wishes to be and challenges the leader.

White Fang(m)(roleplayed by Starnight)


Wheeler: These dogs are important. They pull near the back of the sled. They are the strongest and most experienced sled dogs. (only two wheelers)



Subordinates: These dogs make up the bulk of the team. They are in the middle or near the front when sledding.

Omegas: These are usually the newbies that aren't used to sled dog life, or weak dogs that are too good-natured. They are often bullied.



Team 2

Leader: This dog is respected, admired, and loved. He/she is in the very front when sledding, and is the main decision maker besides the owner.

Team 1
Scara heard Fangs muttered comment. "Not if I give it up." she called over her shoulder. She started to dig a snow hole to curl up in for the night.

Team 2
Jakson watched as Snowflake was given a fish. Seeing Master offering him one he grinned. He gently took it from his hand and ate it up. He lay down beside Snow socking up her heat as he did. The sibarian husky lay his head over her back and closed his brown eyes.

Simon placed his paw over one of Yukis. "Perfectly fine with you." he said with a grin, "Shall we get dinner my lady?" The grey husky stood and streached out a paw towards Masters tent.

"Um. Sure."she smiled. Standing up, she received two fishes from the master. "Here."she said and ate the other one.

Team 1
Scara whipped around at the slight growl from White Fang. Seeing the wolves leaving she barked once after them. She soon dug her snow-hole and curled up in it.

Team 2
Jakson sighed as Snowflower nudged him and left. Climbing to his paws he followed her out. When he paws touched the cold snow he jumped forward and landed over her forcing the female into the snow below.

Simon smiled at Yuki and took a fish. "Allow me to dig you your snow-hole for tonight." he said padding off to the most sheletered part of the clearing. The male sibarian husky soon had a nice hole of his team leader.

Yuki smiled. "Thank you."she said and padded over. "You should go to sleep as well."she said.

Team 1
Scara slowed her breathing and let her eyes drift close. Unable to sleep she climbed out and started to walk around. Not paying attention got her into trouble as she fell down White Fangs Snow Hole.

Team 2
Jakson laughed as he nuzzled Snowflake lovingly. "Sleep with me tonight." he said pleading with the other husky. His brown eyes were like melted chocolate.

Simon grinned at Yuki. "I think I will just keep watch." he barked at her, "I caught the scent of wolves earlier." The sibarian husky male gazed at his leader with a look of love and longing.

"Maybe it was just me."she laughed. "I AM a wolf-dog."she said. Yuki rarely laughed, the ones who made her laugh was sure to be worthy of of her affection. Realizing that, she smiled. Yuki gave Simon a short nuzzle and sat up. "I'll stay up to then."she said.

OOC: Uh oh Scara just got in trouble! XD

Team One: White Fang

A surprised yelp turned into a annoyed growl as White Fang realized that Scara was falling into his hole. This was his pet peeve; other dogs getting in the way of his life. The Siberian husky snarled and sank his canines into his teammate's reddish shoulder as snow pelted upon them both. He did nothing else, though, since instinct told him not to attack the females of his species. (based on the book White Fang)

Team Two: Snowflake

The white dog couldn't help but accept Jakson's request, her answering smile gentle as the falling snow. She began to vigourisly dig a snow hole.

OOC: I know but she is starting to ''fall'' for White Fang

Team 1
The red female yelp as White Fang growled at her and sunk his teeth into her shoulder. When he didnt do anything else she looked up at him. "Im sorry Fang." she said touching him with her nose. Turning away the sibarian husky quickly climbed out of her leaders snow hole.

Team 2
Jakson smiled as Snowflake agreed to stay with him. When she started to dig he joined her in making the hole. When it was done he stepped back so she could go in first.

Simon laughed along with Yuki at her joke. "No Im sure its not you." he barked as she nuzzled him, "You smell much nicer and have better taste in groupings." The gray and white husky nuzzled his leader before nudging her back to her hole. "You go to sleep Ill be fine." he said.

Yuki smiled. "Just call if you need me."she said. As soon as she was settled in, the female fell asleep/passed out/K.O.

Team One: White Fang

White Fang growled gruffly in response. Any male dog would've probably been dead or maimed in that situation. He lay his head down on the snow again and tried to fall asleep in his half-ruined snow hole. But he couldn't--not because of physical discomfort, though. Something else was nagging at Fang's mind. He just couldn't quite put a paw (finger) on it.

Team Two: Snowflake

After stepping back to admire their handiwork, Snowflake smiled as Jakson waited for her to go in the snow hole first. She curled up in the snug space and waited for her crush, her tongue lolling out of her mouth in the classic dog smile.

Team 1
Scara moved away from her leaders snow hole. She felt bad for dropping in on him but not out of fear but something else. It made her feel warm inside but she didnt know what the feeling was. As she padded through the snow she remembered. It was love. Not much but it was there.

Team 2
Jakson watched as Snow curled up in their snow hole. Glancing around be for he climbed in he spotted Simon by Yuki's snow hole. He dipped his head at his brother and jumped in beside his loved one. Curling up around her so he could warm her from all sides his toungue fell out of his mouth as he grinned. His soft brown eyes shone with happiness.

Simon smiled and nodded to Yuki. "Of course." he said as she curled up. He watched as she slowly driffted off to sleep. He smiled with happiness and love soften the gray and white huskys brown eyes. Seeing his brother nod to him he returned it sa he climbed in with Snowflake.

~The next day

Yuki woke up. She licked Simon's cheek and sat down. "Good morning."she said with a smile.

Team 1
Scara crawled out from under a bush at the sound of a whistle. She had curled up under there around midnight and had slept with White Fang dominating her dreams. The red husky hurried back to the clearing where her Masters had set up camp. Arriving she went to them and go her harness put on. Standing in her postion hooked up to the sled she let her mind wonder back to Fang.

Team 2
JAkson had slept soundly with Snowflake. Storing the male lifted his head off her back where he had let it lay and smiled. She was still sound asleep and looked so beautifu;l that he felt like his heart would burst.

Simon looked over at Yuki as she climbed out of her snow hole. "Morning my sweet lady." he said giving her a smile. Leaning closer the husky nuzzled his love.

Yuki nuzzled Simon back. She then gave him a lick on the cheek and padded over to master. He harnessed her on and looked to the other dogs.

Yuki turned and nuzzled Simon before turning back. The master hooked Snowflake and Simon to the sled.

Team 1
Scara gazed at Fang as he looked back at her. She let a small amount of love show as he started to look away befor ecovering it up again hidding it within her. She knew that if it came down to it she would die before trying to fight her leader.

Team 2
Jakson followed Snow a bit more slowly. Taking his place by by his brother he grinned. "Morning bro." he barked nudging his littermate.

Simon laughed and pushed Jakson back as their Master harnessed Snowflake up to the sled and came back to do Jakson. "Morning." he replied.

Master hooked Jakson up and then they were off. "More deliveries, lets go all!"she yipped and started running.
